Methodist Festival cannot take place

The Methodist Festival Planning Group is meeting near Frankfurt since April 26th.
For more than two years a working group has prepared a third Festival for Methodist churches in Europe to be held in Kraków, Poland from August 8-12. At the beginning of planning, in September 2010, a deadline was set for 500 registrations before the 1st May 2012 in order to achieve a successful and financially balanced Festival.

I am looking forward to going to the festival because Krakow is a wonderful city with a very attractive city center, with lots of cafés and many young people around. And of course I will be going because I have already taken part in the two earlier festivals (Potsdam and Bratislava). It was fantastic realizing how different Methodist are and how they still can commonly express their piety. The songs and music, the Wesley groups, the creative events, and the many conversations at the UMC-bus and at the night cafés are really exciting.

Krakow will be THE place to be this summer- to meet with European Methodists & learn from each other, share enthusiasm & experiences, have fun together, as well as see something of this exciting city. Potsdam & Bratislava were great-so I won't miss Krakow!!!

I was very much involved in both previous Festivals, Potsdam 2003 and Bratislava 2007 – as treasurer and in all preparations as a member of staff. In spite of all busy times both Festivals brought with them, there were many many good experiences through services, meetings, Wesley groups and the like. People from 25 Countries from all over Europe were together, and the community with people from foreign countries has been great. May God bless us all at the next Festival in Krakow.
